Junior Basic Training (JBT) is a diploma level course with a duration of 2 years. Child Development, Educational Technology, Teaching of Mathematics, etc are some of the areas covered under this course. Admission to the course is offered either on the basis of qualifying HSC exam or by entrance test. JBT CET is the entrance test held by Himachal Pradesh Board of Education for admission to this course. After pursuing the course, one can apply for the position of teacher in primary or middle schools. They can also work in the role of Student Counsellors, Educational Administrators, etc.

Admission procedure of Junior Basic Training (JBT) Course
Pass in 12th is the basic qualification required to pursue JBT course. Admission to the course depends on the marks obtained in qualifying exam. Application forms can be collected either from the administrative office or web portal of the concerned institute. From the pool of received applications, candidates are short listed on the basis of their marks.
Few Colleges or Universities offer admission on the basis of entrance tests. Institutes under Himachal Pradesh Board of Education, offer admission to JBT course on the basis of one common entrance test, JBT CET. Hindi, English, Numerical Ability and General Awareness form the syllabus of JBT CET. There will be a total of 100 questions that must be answered with in 120 minutes. The test is carried out as a single paper having multiple choice questions.
Those who qualify the test can obtain admission in preferred districts of Himachal Pradesh (subject to the availability of seats). Application fee for attending the test is Rs. 200/- which can be payable in the form of Demand Draft. After making fee payment, application forms can be collected from the official website of HP board of education. Filled up application forms must be sent to the mentioned address with necessary documents such as Demand Draft, Two self Addressed Envelopes, Admit Card (in duplicate), etc.
